It also might make finding an old X3 worth it if you can get it cheap. Do I wish I had a lot of these other sounds in Helix? Do I really even have to say it? Do the amp models themselves sound great? Hecks yes. Now, would I buy POD Farm Platinum for the price of Helix Native today? Hecks no. I also tossed up the Maestro Brassmaster on a bass track. There's a number of amps that haven't made the move to the Helix (Thunderbolt, Marshall Major/Superbass, Cornford, Diezel, lots of great originals, numerous bass amps) that I really liked. As I flipped through IRs and POD Farm amps I was struck with how much I enjoyed the amp tones. I loaded up Lancaster Pulse and disabled the cab model from POD Farm. Through the cab models it sounded decent enough. I pulled up the Amp/Cab VST block and started playing around. So I loaded it up on the current machine and popped over into a couple projects I am working on now. The other day I finally got around to rescuing the contents of an old laptop harddrive at home, and among the dusty files I had POD Farm Platinum. Pod Farm launched a couple of years back as a replacement for Line 6s GearBox software. Between my Helix Floor, and a smattering of amp plugins I have tons of choices for recording, reamping, etc.
